Parent-Infant Financial Aid Program
The Parent & Infant Financial Aid Program gives financial aid to families of infants and toddlers ages birth through 4 who have been diagnosed with a moderately-severe to profound hearing loss. Families must be working toward a spoken language outcome for their child. Awards are given to assist with expenses such as auditory support services, speech-language therapy, technology, pre-school fees/tuition, etc. Families should be committed to a listening and spoken language approach for their child’s listening, speech, oral communication and cognitive skills.
These awards are made one time per year. Award recipients may apply for this program again in future years. Award amounts vary; over the past three years, awards have ranged from $300 to $2,000.
Preschool-Age Financial Aid Program
This program provides financial aid to families with preschool-age children. A child must have moderately severe to profound hearing loss in both ears. The child must be learning to listen and speak.
Families may use the awards to pay for things such as:
- Hearing support services
- Speech and language therapy
- Preschool tuition
- Transportation
- Other related support
Those who apply must be committed to teaching their child to listen and speak. AG Bell makes awards once each year. Families can apply each year if their child is eligible. Award amounts vary. For the past three years, awards have ranged from $600 to $3,500
School-age Financial Aid Program
The school-Age Financial Aid program is for students with a pre-lingual bilateral hearing loss in the moderately-severe to profound range who use listening and spoken language. Students must be entering grades one through twelve for the 2026-2027 school year at a parochial, independent or private mainstream school. Awards are intended to assist with educational costs such as tuition, books, equipment, room and board, auditory and speech language support services, academic tutoring, transportation, and other school-related expenses. This program is not applicable for students who are homeschooled, attend public school, or are in college.
These are one-time awards made generally in the spring or for the upcoming school year. Award amounts vary; in 2025, awards range from $100-$2,500.
