Session Description<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This presentation will cover the entire spectrum of assistive devices for vision loss from low vision to blindness, low tech to high tech, both hardware and software.  I will break these devices down into categories, provide examples and supply everyday applications and testimonials showing how they impact the lives of people.  Particular attention will be paid to some of the latest cutting-edge pieces of assistive technology such as head-borne and OCR devices.  I will discuss the differences between all the accessible computer software options from Freedom Scientific such as JAWS, ZoomText and Fusion along with how software licenses work.  There will be plenty of time allotted for questions and product demonstrations.  The goal is to have the presentation as interactive as possible; I will demonstrate equipment and encourage participation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Presenter Biography<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

My name is Greg Blackman, I\u2019m the owner of EYE can see, Inc. a company we started in 1998 to provide services and products for individuals with visual impairments. We are local providers of assistive technology for low vision and blindness in Indiana and Kentucky, and are the authorized dealers for Optelec, OrCam, LVI, HIMS and Freedom Scientific products including their software portfolio of JAWS, ZoomText, Fusion and OpenBook.  At EYE can see, we focus our treatment on clients\u2019 specific needs and goals, and how these are best met in their environment.  We provide the entire spectrum of equipment from low vision to blindness solutions, both hardware and software.  Our demo center is in Indianapolis, but we have local representation in Kentucky and provide on-site demonstrations and trainings of our products along with lifetime support.  Between us, we bring over 60+ years in the low vision\/blindness field and work with these devices daily.  Additionally, we are licensed O&M providers and are certified for JAWS, ZoomText & Fusion.  We are available by appointment on-site anywhere in the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
