With news of the upcoming storm approaching, ice and storm related power outages may occur, leading some homeowners to use portable generators to power small appliances and heaters in homes that may result in carbon monoxide poisoning.
The National Center for Environmental Health is very concerned about the potential for carbon monoxide linked to portable generators and wants to remind individuals:
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has carbon monoxide materials available at:
General CO poisoning prevention guidelines:
http://www.cdc.gov/co/guidelines.htm available in 17 languages.
Please try to keep individuals involved in your contact lists informed about this and please try to stay safe everyone.
